MAA Member Accomplishments
Over 500 artists submitted over 900 entries to the 32nd Annual Exhibition of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. Judy Lieber's, "The Russian Girl," was one of only 85 paintings selected by the esteemed Juror, Ted Nuttall. Ed Shimek also was accepted into this Exhibition!
This show will be held at the Bloomington Art Center on June 14, 2008.
10:00am - Demonstration by Cheng Khee Chee.
3:30pm - Gallery Walk by Juror Ted Nuttall.
7:30pm - Award Ceremony.
Kathy Braud had art accepted into the 2008 Red River Watercolor Society Juried Spring Show. Her work was also accepted into the juried 2008 Minnesota watercolor Society Spring Show.
Judy Lieber won 2nd place in the Lake Country Pastel Society Show for her painting entitled, Fashion Queens. The exhibit is at the Robbin Gallery in Robbinsdale.
Her oil painting, Jazz, can be viewed at the Thrivant building downtown. Ginny Olson & Ron Merchant also have paintings in this show which traveled from the Elk River National Show held earlier.
The painting Twelve O'Clock Shadow by Judy Lieber won Best of Show at the Lake Country Pastel Show at the Savage Art Studios.

Minnesota State Fair
Just being accepted into the Minnesota State Fair is a big deal. There have been actual shows some years of the paintings that were rejected! Several MAA members were accepted and some won awards.
Kathy Braud won 3rd Honors for her Watercolor painting "Park Trails".
Rita Beyer Corrigan won 3rd Place for her Pastel painting "Morning Walk".
Emmy White won Honorable Mention for her Watercolor painting "BLTs for Lunch".
Ron Merchant's Oil painting "Street Walkers was accepted into the show.
Ginny Olson's Watercolor painting "Into the Silence" was also accepted.
